Supervision

Supervision is fundamental to professional practice for Counsellors, Psychotherapists and individuals working within the helping profession. Incorporation of regular supervision into practice is regarded as ethically imperative and is a requirement of most professional bodies including the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

The collaborative working alliance between Supervisor and Practitioner provides a framework to facilitate in-depth reflection on the therapeutic process, self-awareness, ethical principles and concerns, personal and professional development, and working context, with a professional who is not in a line management role.

Review and exploration of work within supervision, maximizes the Practitioner’s effectiveness and enhances the safety and quality of service provided to clients.
